M2 EQUITYBITES-February 4, 2014--US Financial Accounting Foundation launches tablet-enabled code app

4 February 2014 -- Connecticut US-based The Financial Accounting Foundation said that the Financial Accounting Standards Board's FASB Accounting Standards Codification has been enabled for use on tablet devices.

The FASB Codification contains generally accepted accounting principles recognised by the FASB to be applied by nongovernmental entities, including public and private companies and not-for-profit organisations.

FASB Codification subscribers can access the new tablet view through iOS (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Android-based (NASDAQ: GOOG) devices.

The FAF is responsible for the oversight, administration, and finances of both the Financial Accounting Standards Board and its counterpart for state and local government, the governmental Accounting Standards Board. The Foundation is also responsible for selecting the members of both Boards and their respective Advisory Councils.

Since 1973, the Financial Accounting Standards Board has been the designated organisation in the private sector for establishing standards of financial accounting and reporting.
