(C)2016 M2 COMMUNICATIONS
- The US Food and Drug Administration has cleared Israeli image-based robotic technology specialist MST-Medical Surgery Technologies Ltd.'s Follow Me software designed for minimally invasive robotic surgery, the company said.
Follow Me is an advanced function of MST's AutoLap, an image-guided laparoscope positioning system.
Powered by MST's image-based intelligence technology, AutoLap enables full and natural control of the surgical procedure with minimal user interaction, the company said.
Follow Me enables the image-guided laparoscope to follow laparoscopic surgical tools without manual control. Using MST's image analysis software, Follow Me allows the surgeon to virtually tag the surgical tools within the surgical cavity.
The system interacts with the surgeon's in-vivo movements and gestures, guiding the robotic laparoscope positioner to follow the surgeon's tools in real time.
With the Follow Me software the surgeon is able to fully focus on the procedure with an optimised surgical field of view, image stability and minimal distractions.
MST- Medical Surgery Technologies' team includes professionals with expertise in the development and commercialisation of advanced medical systems integrating hardware, software and robotics. MST's initial offering is AutoLap, the only image-guided laparoscope positioning system.
