US Bowker takes over UK's BML to expand globally.


US Bowker, a specialist in bibliographic information management said on Thursday it has bought UK researcher BML - Book Marketing from UK publisher Publishing News Ltd, without disclosing financial details.

Under the deal, BML will become part of Bowker's Publishing Services division.The acquisition is in line with Bowker's strategy to expand in the international market, vice president, Kelly Gallagher, said. The deal enhances BML's service offering and allows further growth, managing director, Jo Henry, said.

The sale is part of Publishing News's ongoing divestment and licensing programme, Mark Newman, the son of PNL founder, Fred Newman, said.

Bowker, based in New Jersey, also has offices in the UK and Australia.
