US Airways says it has not offered to raise bid for Delta.

US Airways Group (NYSE: LCC) has denied reports that it has offered to raise its hostile takeover offer for Delta Air Lines (Other OTC: DALRQ.PK).

The Wall Street Journal had said that the current USD9.87bn bid could be raised by USD1bn if Delta's creditors agreed to postpone a planned hearing on the airline's restructuring.

However, US Airways spokesman Phil Gee said that the previous offer is still valid and is due to expire on 1 February.
