US: Darling International Announces Acquisition.

June 1 2010 - Darling International Inc. announced it has completed its acquisition of rendering firm Nebraska By-Products, Inc.

The acquisition includes a rendering facility located in Lexington, Nebraska as well as several transfer stations.

Darling International Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Randall Stuewe said, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to add this business to our portfolio and carry on Nebraska By-Products' long tradition of outstanding service to farmers, ranchers, and feedlot operators in the Midwest."

Nebraska By-Products, Inc., headquartered in Lexington, Nebraska, is a provider of deadstock collection and rendering services in Nebraska, Kansas and parts of Colorado and South Dakota.

Darling International Inc. is the largest publicly traded, food processing by-products recycling company in the United States. The company recycles used restaurant cooking oil and by-products from the beef, pork and poultry processing industries into useable products such as tallow, feed-grade fats, meat and bone meal and hides. These products are primarily sold to agricultural, leather, oleo-chemical and bio-diesel manufacturers around the world. In addition, the company provides grease trap collection services and sells equipment to restaurants.
