US's new bid to extradite 'child abuser'.

Byline: BEN ROSSINGTON

THE FBI is to try again to extradite an alleged child molester who has hidden in the UK for nine years.

High Court judges last year blocked the move as it would breach Roger Giese's human rights.

The 42-year-old former choirmaster is wanted for trial in Orange County, California, on "19 serious charges of sexual offences" against a young boy dating back to 1998.

He fled the US the day before his trial in 2008.

Giese set up home in a Hampshire village under the false name Jonathan Roberts, carving out a career as a PR consultant.

At Westminster magistrates' court yesterday, district judge Margot Coleman ruled a new extradition hearing, set for July, could go ahead.
