URS Corporation.

URS Corporation announced that Michael J. Burton has been selected to serve as director of URS' Gulf Coast reconstruction team. In his new position, Burton will coordinate the company's post-disaster program development efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the Gulf Coast states, including Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Prior to joining URS in 2002, Burton was Executive Deputy Commissioner for the New York City Department of Design and Construction.

While at DDC, he was responsible for managing the construction and engineering operations and stabilization and clean-up efforts for the World Trade Center recovery. In 2002, Burton received the Engineering News-Record Award of Excellence for managing the work at Ground Zero.

Burton is a graduate of the Manhattan College Engineering Program and the Fordham University School of Business.
