URS CORPORATION PROVIDES OUTLOOK ON FOURTH QUARTER RESULTS

 SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- URS Corp. (NYSE: URS) today provided an outlook for the fourth quarter ended Oct. 31, 1993. Revenue for the quarter is estimated to be approximately $40 million and earnings per share for the period is expected to be 18 cents. For the fourth quarter of fiscal 1992, revenue was $38 million and net income was 18 cents per share. Final results for the fourth quarter and fiscal 1993 are expected to be released on or about Dec. 21.
 Martin Koffel, chairman and chief executive officer, stated, "We are pleased by our return to profitability following a one-time charge in the third quarter and are encouraged about our future prospects. Our backlog of signed and funded contracts rose to $142 million as of Oct. 31, 1993, and our contract designations were $213 million, compared with backlog and designations of $124 million and $155 million as of Oct. 31, 1992."
 URS Corp. offers a broad range of planning, design and program and construction management services through 24 offices located nationwide. The company serves public and private sector clients in two principal markets: infrastructure projects involving transportation systems, institutional and commercial facilities, and water resources; and environmental projects involving hazardous waste management and pollution control.
