UNLAZY AMERICANS' T-SHIRTS ANSWER JAPAN'S AMERICA BASHERS

UNLAZY AMERICANS' T-SHIRTS ANSWER JAPAN'S AMERICA BASHERS
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- From the heartland of America, with feeling, come T-shirts to give Japanese high muckety-mucks a few unkind words, and pictures too!
Created and put in production within 24-hours of the Japanese prime minister's most recent remarks about U.S. workers, one shows a giant red, white and blue screw boring through a Japanese rising sun flag with the exhortation, "America, Screw Japan," on the front and the declaration, "I'm not a lazy American," on the back.
Overnight, literally, because its seven workers worked through the night, a small Tennessee company has created several T-shirts that tell Japanese critics a thing or two -- front and back, in red, white and blue.
"We're hardworking people just like most Americans. We don't appreciate this stuff about our being lazy," says Steve Dunlap, who started out creating T-shirts but more recently marketed Moonies dolls and the talking dog collar, "Pet Peeves."
A second T-shirt shows an American car on the front. You can tell by the stars in its headlights and the American flag on its license plate. Under the car, it says, "Yes, American." There's a car with the rising sun in headlights and license plate on the back and below it, "No Japanese."
"Wear one of these," Dunlap says, "and there can't be any doubt about how you feel." He's sending one of each to President Bush and Lee Iacocca in case they'd like to let the world know too.
The first shipments of the shirts, top quality, Made in America -- in Knoxville and printed in Memphis, incidentally, with a label that reads, "Unlazy Americans, Inc.," were being shipped Wednesday and will be in some stores by the weekend, Dunlap said. In the interim, they can be ordered by phone from "Unlazy Americans," distributed by Absolutely Hilarious Products, Inc. of Memphis, 800-234-8337.
