 UNIVERSAL STUDIOS FLORIDA PREPARED FOR A FULL-SLATE OF PRODUCTION
 ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- "America's Funniest People" tops a full schedule of television and film production at Universal Studios Florida. Through the summer and into the fall, Universal Studios Florida's six soundstages are booked to capacity with projects that include funny people, funny dogs, new shows at Nickelodeon Studios and other productions that will soon grace television and the silver screen.
 "America's Funniest People" producer, Vin Di Bona Productions, has selected finalists from all over the country who will compete in Orlando. The Universal Studios Florida audience will determine who are truly the funniest people in the country and award their comic talents with $15,000 in prize money.
 The hit primetime ABC television series will return to Universal Studios Florida to tape the entire new season beginning in August and continuing through December. "America's Funniest People," will tape 18 half-hour segments in front of a live audience at Universal's Animal Actors 1,500 seat Amphitheater.
 Starring Dave Coulier and new co-host Tawny Kitaen, this gut-busting talent search highlights ordinary people from around the country showcasing their "extraordinary" abilities to tell jokes, do impressions or sing "unusual" songs.
 The hilarious new game show, "That's My Dog," which begins its second season Oct. 4 on The Family Channel, just completed taping their entire 92-93 season on Soundstage 23. Furry contestants on "That's My Dog" face challenges like "Bow Wow Bowling," "Puppie Pie Eating Contest," "The Human-Size Maze" and a doggy talent contest.
 Other challenges include slipper fetch, dog sled races and an obstacle course for pooch. Hosted by comedian Steve Skrovan, the show highlights the unpredictable nature of your neighborhood dog. "That's part of the fun for me," said Skrovan. "You never know what to expect."
 At Nickelodeon Studios, "Roundhouse" a variety show featuring all- new, non-stop dance, music and sketch comedy, began production on July 4. The comedy variety show is taped before a live studio on Saturdays through Oct. 1992.
 "Roundhouse" created by Buddy Sheffield ("In Living Colour") and Rita Sheffield, features a cast comprised of a dozen young actors/singers/dances who explore all aspects of "teen-age" life. The half-hour series debuted Saturday, Aug. 15 in its regular SNICK (Saturday Night Nicklodeon) time slot, 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT)
 Also at Nickelodeon, "Family Double Dare" makes its gak-splashing return with 40 new episodes July 8-24. The series features imaginative trivia games, challenging sloppy stunts and a messy physical challenge course.
 Culminating the "Family Double Dare" season, is a one-hour "Tournament of Champions" special. It will be "brain vs. brawn" as the top scoring families in the trivia round will compete against the top family finishers in the physical and stunts challenges.
 Rounding our the summer season at Nickelodeon is the new action game show, "G.U.T.S.," which offers bigger than life sports challenges...for kids. "G.U.T.S." debuted before a live studio audience this summer.
 Also at Universal Studios Florida, the audio track for the recently released feature film, "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery," was digitally mixed at the post production facility, Century III. This state-of-the-art audio procedure has become a forerunner for improved audio intensity in post production houses all over the world. By digitally controlling the audio track, generations can be reproduced without any loss of quality. "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery," stars Marlon Brando, Rachel Ward and Tom Selleck.
 Universal Studios Florida is the largest working studio outside Hollywood. This 444-acre studio and theme park provides guests the opportunity to "ride the movies," including such favorites as "Back To The Future...The Ride," "E.T. The Adventure," "Earthquake" and "Kongfrontation." In addition, ongoing expansion on the studio backlot includes four exciting new attractions including: "Lucy: A Tribute," "Beetlejuice's Graveyard Review," "Fievel's Playland" and "The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle." Director and producer Steven Spielberg serves as creative consultant to the $630 million entertainment complex which is a joint venture between MCA Inc. and The Rank Organization. Universal Studios Florida takes visitors beyond the screen and into the world of television and film -- to "ride the movies."
