UNITED STEELWORKERS OF AMERICA ESTABLISHES RELIEF FUND TO ASSIST FLOOD VICTIMS IN ARIZONA

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The United Steelworkers of America (USW) announced today the establishment of the Steelworkers Copper Basin Disaster Relief Fund to assist victims of flooding in Arizona.
Robert R. Guadiana, director of USW District 39 which encompasses the afflicted area, said the union had designated two centers to assist in the effort -- one in USW offices in Tucson and the other in Kearny, where flooding has been heavy.
"Our goal is to assist both the residents and the Red Cross, which has been providing on-site help in Kearny, Hayden and Winkleman," Guadiana said. "It is our hope that Steelworkers, other union members and the general public will assist in this worthwhile effort."
Donations may be sent to the fund in care of the USW office at 3776 North First Ave., Suite 200, Tucson, Ariz., 85719.
