 UNITED STATES LIFE PROMOTES THREE OFFICERS
 NEW YORK, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Life Insurance


Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of USLIFE Corporation (NYSE: USH), today announced the promotion of Felix C. Curcuru, Jr., Frank E. Freese and Daniel J. Latore to senior vice presidents with its Employer/Employee Group Operations headquartered in Neptune, N.J.
 In making this announcement, Gordon E. Crosby, Jr., chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of USLIFE Corporation and chairman of United States Life, commented: "These gentlemen are seasoned professionals in our group operations and have been instrumental in the successful relocation and growth of those activities at the USLIFE Operations Center in Neptune, N.J."
 Felix C. Curcuru, Jr., 44, has been promoted to senior vice president-group underwriting and actuary. He joined United States Life in 1968 as a trainee in the actuarial department. In 1975, he was named assistant actuary and, in 1978, he advanced to associate actuary. In 1979, he was promoted to second vice president-associate actuary and the following year he was appointed second vice president-group actuary. He was elected vice president-actuary in 1981 and then promoted to his most recent position in 1986 as vice president-group underwriting and actuary.
 Curcuru earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics in 1968 from Fordham University. He and his wife, Carol, and their family reside in Brick, N.J.
 Frank E. Freese, 52, has been promoted to senior vice president- policy benefits. He joined United States Life in 1974 as assistant vice president-controller and, in 1975, he was named second vice president- controller. In 1983, he was appointed to his most recent position as vice president-policy benefits.
 Freese attended the College of Insurance, New York University and the University of Maryland. He and his wife, Georgianna, and their family reside in Brooklyn, N.Y.
 Daniel J. Latore, 53, was promoted to senior vice president-group insurance administration. In 1979, he joined USLIFE Systems Corporation another wholly owned USLIFE company, as a senior operations analyst. He transferred to United States Life in 1980 as assistant vice president- operations management and later that same year he was named second vice president-group issue. In 1981, he was appointed second vice president- group administration and, in 1983, he was promoted to his most recent position as vice president-group insurance services.
 Latore attended Rutgers University. He and his wife, Mary, and their family reside in Middletown, N.J.
