HERITAGE LITE BEEF(R) IN TWO NEW SUPERMARKET CHAINS
CLEBURNE, Texas, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- United Heritage Corporation (NASDAQ: UHCP), Cleburne, Texas-based holding company engaged in the production and sale of lite beef products and cattle, announced today that HERITAGE LITE BEEF(R), a product sold by wholly owned subsidiary, National Heritage Sales Corporation, will be test marketed beginning this week in two new supermarket chains.
The first of the two new chains test-marketing HERITAGE LITE BEEF(R) is Buttrey Food Stores, a Montana-based, 43-store chain which is part of the American Stores group of supermarket chains. Buttrey has stores in Montana, North Dakota, Washington, Utah and Wyoming, and is the third American Stores chain to market HERITAGE LITE BEEF(R), following Jewel Osco (formerly Skaggs Alpha-Beta) and Star Markets.
The second new chain is Rainbow Foods, a 25-store chain located in Minnesota. Rainbow Foods is a subsidiary of the wholesale food distribution organization, Gateway Foods, Inc. and most of its locations are "super-store" type operations.
Based on discussions with the managements of the two new chains, following a successful test-marketing phase, plans include offering HERITAGE LITE BEEF(R) in most Buttrey locations and all Rainbow stores, producing a combined estimated annual sales volume of approximately $7,000,000.
In addition to the chains mentioned above, HERITAGE LITE BEEF(R) is carried by Tom Thumb Page, Pratt Foods and Scrivner, Inc. (Oklahoma- based wholesaler.)
