UNITED HEALTHCARE'S MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES TEAMS UP
 WITH BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF VIRGINIA
 MINNEAPOLIS, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- United Behavioral Systems, Inc. (UBS) and Richmond-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia today jointly announced that they were selected by the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide mental health and substance abuse counseling and benefit management services to approximately 200,000 employees and dependents enrolled in the Commonwealth's health plan.
 UBS, a subsidiary of United HealthCare Corporation (NYSE: UNH), is one of the nation's leading managers of behavioral health benefits programs. Since June 1991, UBS has acted as a subcontractor to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia, the largest health insurer in the commonwealth, which serves more than 1.8 million people.
 Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The agreement will be effective July 1, 1992.
 United Behavioral Systems provides mental health and substance abuse treatment and management services to managed health plans, insurance companies and employer groups. United Behavioral Systems currently serves over 1.4 million lives through programs involving direct clinical services.
