UNITED EXPRESS EXPANDS IN DENVER

FARMINGTON, N.M., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesa Airlines (NASDAQ: MESA), operating as United Express, has announced it will increase the number of flights operating out of the Denver hub between now and the end of July 1993. By mid-summer United Express will offer 96 daily flights from Denver, a 30 percent increase from early April 1993 levels.
United Express will initiate service into Lubbock, Texas, on May 10, 1993, with two daily round trips to Denver. On June 3, 1993, seasonal service will resume in Jackson Hole, Wyo.; on June 19, 1993, new service will begin in Rock Springs, Wyo., with four daily round trips to Denver.
New cities will comprise only part of the Denver/United Express expansion. More air service is being added to some of United Express' other cities. Casper and Riverton, Wyo.; Durango and Montrose, Colo.; Liberal, Kan.; and Midland/Odessa, Texas, will all receive one additional round trip each to Denver. Fort Collins, Grand Junction and Gunnison, Colo., will all have two round trips to Denver added to their schedules.
"The tremendous response to our service over the past six months, coupled with our partner United Airlines' recently announced expansion in Denver, has provided us the opportunity to enhance our schedule," remarked Gus Carbonell, Mesa Airlines' director of planning and scheduling.
New aircraft deliveries to United Express have made the Denver expansion possible. Six 19-passenger Beechcraft 1900D Airliners and two 30-passenger Embraer Brasilias are being added to the Mesa/United Express fleet.
Mesa, which is made up of seven divisions and subsidiaries, is the largest commuter carrier in the country, serving 144 cities with a fleet of more than 130 aircraft. Mesa was recently recognized as the Commuter/Regional Airline of the year by Air Transport World, a worldwide airline industry publication.
