 UNITED DOMINION NAMES CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER,
 GENERAL COUNSEL AND PLANNING/DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
 CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- United Dominion Industries Limited (TSE, NYSE: UDI) today named Robert E. Drury, 48, to be chief financial officer of this international industrial products, construction and engineering firm. The company also promoted B. Bernard Burns to the post of general counsel and corporate secretary and named Glenn A. Eisenberg vice president, planning and development.
 Mr. Drury has been vice president, operating systems, controls and taxation at United Dominion since 1991 and has been an officer of the company since 1987. A native of Providence, R.I., he earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island. He is a certified public accountant.
 Prior to joining United Dominion as manager, tax research and planning, Mr. Drury was an auditor, senior manager and principal of Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young) in Providence.
 In his new capacity, Mr. Drury will be responsible for all financial functions, filling a position that has been vacant for the past 18 months.
 Mr. Burns, 44, who has been vice president and associate general counsel since joining the company in 1989, will succeed John A. Davis as general counsel and corporate secretary. Mr. Davis has elected to retire early and will be pursuing other business interests.
 Born in Greenwood, S.C., Mr. Burns received his bachelor's degree from Furman University and graduated with honors from the Duke University School of Law in 1973. He became an associate in the Charlotte law firm of Smith Helms Mulliss & Moore in 1973, specializing in corporate law, and served as a partner of the firm from 1979 until joining United Dominion.
 Mr. Eisenberg, 31, has been director of corporate finance and investor relations at United Dominion for the past year and a half. He joined the company in 1990 as manager of treasury analysis and services.
 A native of Jersey City, N.J., Mr. Eisenberg earned a bachelor's degree in economics and environmental studies from Tulane University and his MBA degree in finance from Georgia State University. Prior to coming to United Dominion, he was a vice president with the Citizens and Southern Corporation (now part of NationsBank) in Atlanta.
 In the planning and development function, Mr. Eisenberg will succeed J. Leckie Rives, senior vice president, who will be assuming broader operating responsibilities for the company.
