 UNITED ANNOUNCES LOS ANGELES-HONG KONG NON-STOP SERVICE
 CHICAGO, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines announced today it will inaugurate service on a major new non-stop international route between Los Angeles and Hong Kong beginning April 4, 1993.
 "United is pleased to become the first U.S. flag carrier to offer daily non-stop service on this important route between Los Angeles and Hong Kong," said Stephen M. Wolf, chairman and chief executive officer.
 This new route further strengthens United's growing international presence in Los Angeles, where the carrier currently offers non-stop service to Auckland, Guatemala City, London, Mexico City, Paris, Sao Paulo, San Salvador, Sydney and Tokyo.
 The new Los Angeles-Hong Kong service will allow convenient connections at Los Angeles for passengers flying between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil and Hong Kong and from 16 other domestic and international points with non-stop flights to Los Angeles. The flight to/from Hong Kong will allow convenient connections both eastbound and westbound for customers whose origin or destination is Singapore.
 The Los Angeles-Hong Kong service will be operated in Boeing 747-400 aircraft seating 36 customers in first class, 126 in Connoisseur Class and 184 in economy class.
 The westbound flight to be known as United One will depart from Los Angeles International Airport at 1:15 p.m. and arrive in Hong Kong at 6:45 p.m. the following day. The eastbound flight to be known as United Two will depart from Hong Kong at 12:30 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 10:30 a.m.
 This new service will complement United's daily non-stop trans Pacific Hong Kong service from San Francisco which is also operated in Boeing 747-400 equipment.
