NEW YORK, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The United Airlines Union Coalition, comprised of United's three principal unions, the Air Line Pilots Association ("ALPA"), the International Association of Machinists ("IAM"), and the Association of Flight Attendants ("AFA"), today confirmed that it had provided to UAL Corporation several concepts, including significant employee cost savings, to enable the company to become financially stronger, in exchange for a significant majority equity stake in the company.
No specific percentage ownership to be held by the employees has been discussed with the company. Further, the specific employee cost savings outlined to the company differ from those reported in the press today.
The Coalition stated that it would have no further comment at this time with respect to discussions with the company.
