UNITED AIRLINES TRAFFIC INCREASES 18.2 PERCENT
CHICAGO, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines today reported

that its total scheduled revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased 18.2 percent in March compared with the same month of 1991. Systemwide load factor for the month grew by 4.3 points to 64.7 percent from 60.4 percent.
In commenting on the month, Vice Chairman John C. Pope said, "Domestic traffic, which grew by only 1 percent compared with a year ago, remains at a depressed level due to the weakness in the economy. By contrast, growth in international traffic is very encouraging, with RPMs increasing by 71 percent. Our Atlantic loads are well above expectations, while our Latin American business is expanding as we begin to establish ourselves in the market."
