UNITED AIRLINES NOVEMBER TRAFFIC INCREASES 11.3 PERCENT

 CHICAGO, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines today reported that its total scheduled revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased 11.3 percent while available seat miles (ASMs) grew by 3.9 percent in November compared with the same month of 1992. The scheduled passenger load factor was 66.9 percent compared with 62.5 percent a year ago.
 "Our strong improvement in November load factor reflects, in large part, the strike by flight attendants at American Airlines," said United Airlines President and Chief Operating Officer J.C. Pope. "Particularly in the U.S. and Latin America, our heavy passenger loads during this period helped to boost traffic levels for the full month."
 The airline's total scheduled RPMs were 7,966,377,000 compared with 7,158,942,000 in November of 1992.
 For November, domestic revenue passenger miles totaled 5,099,061,000, an increase of 12.2 percent from 4,543,556,000 accumulated in November a year ago. Pacific revenue passenger miles totaled 1,803,323,000, an increase of 5.7 percent from 1,705,988,000 a year ago. Atlantic revenue passenger miles totaled 691,208,000, an increase of 15.3 percent from 599,424,000 a year ago. Latin American revenue passenger miles totaled 372,785,000, an increase of 20.3 percent from 309,974,000.
 Total scheduled available seat miles (ASMs) were 11,906,693,000, up 3.9 percent from 11,456,462,000 a year ago.
 Domestic ASMs were 7,724,549,000, an increase of 2.9 percent from 7,504,671,000 a year ago. Pacific ASMs totaled 2,538,274,000, up 4.5 percent from 2,428,057,000 a year ago. Atlantic ASMs totaled 1,021,641,000, up 12.7 percent from 906,336,000. Latin American ASMs totaled 622,229,000, an increase of 0.8 percent from 617,398,000 a year ago.
 The airline flew 5,602,000 passengers in scheduled service in November, an increase of 8.3 percent from 5,173,000 flown a year earlier.
 Total cargo ton miles for November were 175,714,000, up 14.1 percent from 153,935,000 a year ago.
 Total RPMs including charter flights for November were 7,995,615,000, up 11.3 percent from 7,181,854,000 a year ago.
 JANUARY THROUGH NOVEMBER TRAFFIC
 For the first 11 months, total scheduled RPMs increased 9.5 percent to 93,014,985,000 from 84,917,318,000 in 1992.
 Total scheduled ASMs increased 10.1 percent to 137,897,090,000 from 125,208,840,000 for the same period last year.
 Passenger load factor year to date was 67.5 percent, down 0.3 points from 67.8 percent in 1992.
 Total cargo ton miles were 1,827,564,000 year to date, an increase of 16.4 percent from 1,569,453,000 last year.
 Total RPMs including charter for the year were 93,254,531,000, an increase of 9.6 percent from 85,109,972,000 in 1992.
