UNITED AIRLINES NAMES SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT-FINANCE

 CHICAGO, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines today announced the appointment of Douglas A. Hacker as senior vice president-finance. Based at United's executive offices in Chicago, Hacker will be responsible for treasury, tax, purchasing, controller operations, auditing, aircraft finance, cash management, investor relations and related financial functions. He will report directly to J.C. Pope, president and chief operating officer.
 "Doug Hacker's extensive financial background and airline experience will serve United well, especially in these difficult economic times," said United Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephen M. Wolf. "We are pleased to add his expertise to our already strong Finance Division."
 Hacker most recently served as vice president-corporate & fleet planning at American Airlines since 1991. He held a variety of senior management positions with American, including vice president-corporate services, vice president and treasurer, and vice president-corporate finance and development. Prior to those positions, Hacker held an investment banking post in London for Babcock & Brown.
 Hacker holds a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in economics from Princeton University.
