UNITED AIRLINES HELPS "AN AMERICAN REUNION" TAKE WING

CHICAGO, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) next week will bring hundreds of Americans to the nation's capital to celebrate
President-elect Clinton's inaugural week festivities: An American Reunion: New Beginnings, Renewed Hope.''
We want to help President-elect Clinton have the most successful and accessible inaugural week possible,'' said United's Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer Stephen Wolf. By serving as a travel sponsor, many children and adults who would not normally be able to attend this important quadrennial event in American history will be a part of it.''
Chicago's Jesse White Tumblers, members of Chicago's Latin American Performing Arts Conservatory, representative citizens from all across the United States selected by the President-elect, a homeless woman from Hayward, California, and celebrity gala performers will fly to Washington, D.C., courtesy of United Airlines.
From United's hometown of Chicago, 30 Jesse White Tumblers, an inner city African-American acrobatic youth troupe, and 28 members of the Latin American Performing Arts Conservatory, which provides classical artistic, cultural and educational training and guidance to Chicago's inner-city Latino youth, were selected to represent Illinois in the Inaugural Parade. While honored to be invited, travel expenses threatened the groups' attendance. United's donation is making their proud day possible.
As part of its national inaugural sponsorship, United is providing transportation to many of the Americans whose lives and stories touched the
President-elect and Mrs. Clinton during the campaign. These Faces of Hope'' will arrive at Washington's National and Dulles International Airports and will spend the week as guests of the Clintons.
Additionally, Ms. Myrna Lewis, a homeless woman from Hayward, California, who served as a campaign volunteer for Clinton, will fly to and attend the inaugural courtesy of United, her local congressman, and her community, which has even donated her ball gown.
Various celebrities who are scheduled to perform at the Presidential Gala and other special events will also travel on United, allowing the Presidential Inaugural Committee to keep costs to a minimum.
