UNITED AIRLINES ENTERS MARKETING AGREEMENT WITH THAI AIRWAYS

 CHICAGO, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines announced today that it has concluded an initial marketing agreement with Thai Airways International Ltd. to coordinate schedules and engage in cooperative promotional and marketing activities.
 The two airlines also have agreed to a memorandum of intent to develop a more comprehensive marketing agreement that will include code sharing and other synergistic cooperative efforts.
 "We welcome this agreement with Thai Airways, which is aimed at improving customer service and convenience at destinations we have in common throughout the Pacific," said United Airlines Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephen M. Wolf. "We also look forward to exploring new, cooperative ventures with Thai that will help to strengthen United's international route system."
 As one of the largest international carriers in the world, United Airlines operates scheduled trans-Pacific service to Asia from six U.S. gateways: Chicago, Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York, Newark and San Francisco. United's Asian destinations include Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Manila, Osaka, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo.
