UNITED AIRLINES ANNOUNCES BUSINESS ONE, NEW SERVICES FOR BUSINESS
TRAVELERS FLYING BETWEEN CHICAGO O'HARE AND SIX KEY AIRPORTS
CHICAGO, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines announced today "Business One," a package of enhanced airport services designed to meet the needs of business travelers flying between Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and six major airports: Boston, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York La Guardia, Newark, Philadelphia and Washington National. It will be available beginning today.
"In addition to the high frequency service United currently offers in these markets, the airline is introducing a range of new services -- from convenient gates to complimentary beverages -- at O'Hare which will be valued by business fliers who pass through these airports day in and day out," said Adam M. Aron, senior vice president-marketing.
United and United Express offer more than 1,000 flights at O'Hare International Airport every business day, more flights than any other carrier. In the six markets chosen for Business One, United offers 18 flights a day to/from Boston, 28 to/from Minneapolis/St. Paul, 32 to/from New York La Guardia, 28 to/from Newark, 16 to/from Philadelphia and 30 to/from Washington National.
In these six important business markets combined, United operates an industry-leading total of 152 flights compared to 114 by American, 32 by Northwest, 14 by Continental and eight by USAir.
Among the elements of United's new Business One are:
-- Convenient gates. At O'Hare, Business One flights leave from the
B Concourse. Most Business One flights originating at the other six
airports also will utilize the most convenient gates.
-- Gate ticketing. Full-fare customers on Business One flights
who currently obtain tickets at the airport now can obtain their
ticket with a credit card at the Business One gate. Prior
reservations are necessary. When they call United reservations to
book a flight, they also can obtain by FAX a copy of their Business
One flight confirmation and itinerary, including seat assignments.
-- Dedicated airport personnel. A unique team concept, United is
assigning the same employees in customer service and ramp service to
work the Business One flights every day, thus better assuring
 consistency of service delivery.
-- Complimentary beverages. Self-service beverage carts will be
available for United customers at O'Hare, offering regular and
decaffeinated coffee, Coca Cola classic, diet Coke, Sprite and
Fresca soft drinks and Minute Maid orange juice.
 -- Special offers. Full-fare customers traveling a same-day, round-
trip flight on Business One routes can obtain free upgrades on car
rentals from Hertz, provided they return the car the day it is
rented. In addition, Mileage Plus members flying on Business One
flights can receive a 10 percent discount on a Hertz rental car.
Both offers are good through Dec. 15, 1992. Any customer on a
Business One flight making 20 or more phone calls from GTE
Airfone through Dec. 31, 1992, can obtain a month of free
phone service on United flights from GTE Airfone.
