UNISYS RECEIVES $338 MILLION GSA SYSTEMS CONTRACT WASHINGTON, June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Administrator Richard G.
Austin of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) today announced award of a contract with an estimated value of $338,298,283 to UNISYS Corp. (NYSE: UIS), McLean, Va., to provide the agency with computer systems and services.
Austin said the 10-year, competitively-awarded contract for GSA Systems (GSAS), is a fixed price, indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity contract which will provide GSA users with a vehicle through which to acquire a wide range of information processing resources to meet specific needs. Several configurations of mainframes, minicomputers and microcomputers, as well as data communications, will be provided in a three-tiered processing architecture. The three tiers will maximize system compatibility and interoperability, both among the GSAS products and with other systems as well. State-of-the-art technology will be maintained throughout the contract's life by modifications provided through a technology refreshment substitutions clause.
