UNION TO RETURN TO WORK AT JOY TECHNOLOGIES' FRANKLIN, PA., FACILITY

 PITTSBURGH, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Joy Technologies Inc. (NYSE: JOY) reported that the IAM Local 1842 union membership voted today to return to work at Joy's Franklin, Pa., plant on Jan. 4, 1993, under the same terms and conditions as those of the contract that expired on Nov. 19, 1992. The local union members had been on strike since Nov. 20.
 Joy Technologies is a leader in the worldwide manufacturing and servicing of mining equipment for the underground extraction of coal and other bedded materials. The company is also a large supplier of air pollution and ash handling equipment used by utilities and other industrial operations.
