 UNION CONTRACT RATIFIED FOR CONSUMERS POWER EMPLOYEES
 JACKSON, Mich., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Executive Board of the


Michigan State Utility Workers Council, AFL-CIO, representing approximately 4,000 Consumers Power Company workers, today announced ratification of a new three-year contract.
 The company-wide ratification vote followed negotiations which produced a tentative agreement on May 31, 1992. The new contract runs from June 1, 1992, to June 1, 1995.
 The announcement was released jointly by Bernard L. Gray, president of the union, and Gregory A. Sando, manager of labor relations.
 "We believe the agreement is fair and equitable to our members," said Gray. Sando said, "We are fully committed to continue working with the union leadership to advance the interests o?ur customers and shareholders as well as those of the company and its employees. We are working to provide an environment that stresses employee involvement and accountability in safety, customer service, planning and performance of work and sharing in the company's success."
 Consumers Power Company, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS), is Michigan's largest natural gas and electric utility serving almost 6 million of the state's 9 million residents in 67 of the 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
