UNIGRAPHICS/INTERGRAPH TEAM ON CAD-2 CONTRACTS FOR GOVERNMENT.

Unigraphics Solutions Inc. (NYSE: UGS), St. Louis, has formed a strategic alliance with Intergraph Federal Systems (Nasdaq: INGR) to offer the UGS suite of products to all US Government federal and civilian agencies through the Intergraph Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Air Systems Command/Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (NAVAIR/SPAWAR) CAD-2 contracts. This multi-million dollar deal over the life of these two contracts, provides a complete collaborative engineering solution including UGS' software, training and services, as well as license transfers from the Engineering Modeling System (EMS) CLIX product line to UGS' mechanical CAD/CAM/CAE software products running under Windows NT(TM).

As a result of this alliance, the NAVSEA and NAVAIR/SPAWAR CAD-2 contracts have been refreshed with Unigraphics Solutions' leading-edge CAD/CAM/CAE products, thereby providing federal and civilian agencies with access to the same product development technology and technical expertise that large corporate clients like General Motors, Boeing and Pratt & Whitney have come to depend on. In addition, Intergraph is offering to exchange customers' originally purchased mechanical products on this contract for new Unigraphics Solutions software that is Windows NT-based and Y2K-compliant.

"Intergraph and Unigraphics Solutions have a very special relationship," says Dr. William Salter, president of Intergraph Federal Systems. "This alliance is strategic for both of our companies and it greatly facilitates our ability to provide high-technology, collaborative engineering tools to federal and civilian agencies. We are very pleased to be able to do this."

"I am excited when a business is successful in the State of Missouri," said Congressman Dick Gephardt. "The teaming of Unigraphics Solutions and Intergraph Federal Systems for CAD-2 contracts will generate millions of dollars for the Missouri economy."

"Unigraphics Solutions is proud to have been selected for this important federal contract," says John Mazzola, President and CEO of Unigraphics Solutions. "We look forward to working with Intergraph in helping to enhance the productivity of federal and civilian agencies with our world class CAD/CAM/CAE and PDM solutions."
