UNCOVER BURIED VIDEO TREASURES THIS WEEKEND WITH SISKEL & EBERT;

WINDOW: FRIDAY, OCT. 9 - SUNDAY, OCT. 11, CONSULT LOCAL LISTINGS
 BURBANK, Calif., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Ever wonder what movies to rent at the video store? This weekend, Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert, hosts of the No. 1 syndicated weekly movie review series, offer ten titles that deserve another look.
 These buried treasures are recent films that didn't get the proper respect or audience when they were first released in theaters and are now in release on home video.
 Topping Ebert's list is "Scandal," the 1989 film version of the sex scandal which brought down Britain's Prime Minister Harold Macmillan in the early 1960s.
 Siskel's first pick is Walter Hill's "Johnny Handsome," a tough thriller with a wonderful cast headed by Mickey Rourke.
 Other picks on Ebert's list include:
 -- "White Mischief," a look at the decadent society of British exiles living in the so-called white highlands of Kenya in the 1940s.
 -- "Come See the Paradise," the story of a white man and his Japanese-American wife against the unfolding of World War II.
 -- "Life is Sweet," a funny, charming film about a suburban London family's dreams and disappointments.
 -- "The Hot Spot," a steamy melodrama about fast cars and fast women, bank robberies and revenge directed by Dennis Hopper.
 Siskel's list includes:
 -- "White Hunter, Black Heart," a biographical drama about director John Huston starring and directed by Clint Eastwood.
 -- "The Krays," the study of a pair of murderous Cockney twin brothers who terrorized London's East End in the 1960s.
 -- "The Object of Beauty," an offbeat film about a couple of Yuppies forced to confront their possessions and their relationship.
 -- "An Angel at My Table," which traces 40 years in the life of New Zealand writer Janet Frame.
 Armed with Siskel and Ebert's list of films worth a second chance, selecting a video this weekend should be a snap.
