ULTRA PAC, INC. BREAKS GROUND FOR NEW WAREHOUSING FACILITY

ROGERS, Minn., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Ultra Pac, Inc., (NASDAQ: UPAC) will hold a ground breaking ceremony on Friday, May 14, 1993 at 10 a.m. to commence the development of a warehousing facility adjacent to the company's existing facilities. This 165,000-square-foot building, developed by MHL Partners, of Plymouth, Minn., is scheduled to be completed in August 1993.
Moving the company's warehousing into this new facility will allow Ultra Pac to expand its extrusion and thermoforming capacity in its existing facility. The company owns approximately 15 acres of land on this site, giving Ultra Pac the ability to further expand the facility to accommodate continuing sales growth and warehousing needs.
"This ground breaking ceremony is an important step in the strategic growth of Ultra Pac as well as the development of our community," Cal Krupa, Ultra Pac's CEO, said. "Our new warehouse will allow Ultra Pac to continue to expand, and in turn, contribute positively to Rogers and the surrounding areas."
Local dignitaries scheduled to be present at Friday's ground breaking are the Mayor of Rogers, Steve Scharber, and the City Administrator, Gary Etil.
Ultra Pac, Inc., based in Rogers, designs, manufactures and markets plastic packaging primarily for the food industry. The bulk of the company's products are made from PETE, a high quality resilient plastic. PETE is generally considered the most widely recycled plastic in the United States. The company currently serves over 600 customers throughout the country, including retail grocery chains, fast food franchises, frozen food processors, produce growers, and floral and food packaging distributors.
