MENLO PARK, Calif., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Ultra Clean Technology today announced the appointment of Lester (Les) F. Dahlstedt, 47, to the position of western regional manager. Dahlstedt brings more than 28 years of sales, marketing and engineering experience in the semiconductor industry to Ultra Clean Technology. He will be responsible for the development of all sales and service efforts in California, Oregon and Washington for Ultra Clean Technology's gas panels, which are used in semiconductor process equipment and cylinder cabinets, and ultraclean grade components, including valves, tubing and fittings used in gas panels and gas delivery systems.
Ultraclean manufacturing techniques make it possible to create a contamination-free wafer-processing environment at every step in the manufacturing flow, from the point-of-origin to the point-of-use. This is particularly critical for submicron manufacturing and ultimately leads to a dramatic improvement in yields and manufacturing throughput when compared to conventional manufacturing techniques.
Most recently, Dahlstedt served as vice president of sales for Spectra Instruments, a $6 million manufacturer of gas analysis systems for semiconductor processing, where he successfully restructured the sales force and dramatically increased sales to the semiconductor industry.
"Mr. Dahlstedt's combination of talent and experience make him the ideal person to meet the ambitious goals of the sales organization at Ultra Clean Technology," stated Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Peter Hauser. "I'm confident that his in-depth knowledge of semiconductor processing coupled with his keen understanding of customers' requirements will allow him to successfully build sales in the region."
"I'm very enthusiastic about the benefits which users of ultraclean gas delivery systems will see in yield improvement, equipment reliability and return on investment," Dahlstedt added. "As a proactive supplier, Ultra Clean Technology is well-positioned and equipped to meet the needs of the U.S. semiconductor industry."
Before joining Spectra, Dahlstedt founded and operated Dahlstedt Associates, a manufacturer's representative agency supplying capital equipment to semiconductor equipment companies in Northern California, which he developed into a multi-million dollar company. Prior to that, Dahlstedt served as western regional manager and then market development manager at Ferrofluidics Corp. (Nashua, N.H.), a manufacturer of rotary seals used in semiconductor process equipment. From 1964 to 1977, he held a variety of development engineering and sales positions in semiconductor process equipment and related companies, including Leybold- Heraeus Vacuum Products Inc. (Export, Penn.). Dahlstedt holds a B.S. in physics from Adelphi University.
