ULTIMAP ANNOUNCES NEW PC-BASED GIS SOLUTIONS
ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Ultimap Corporation

(NASDAQ: UMAPQ) announced today that it has begun shipping two new products enabling local government users without GIS experience to view and analyze GIS data. Assessment Station(TM) and Public Access Station(TM) are the result of a cooperative development effort between Ultimap and MapInfo Corporation of Troy, N.Y.
Public Access Station is used to view and print basic property information, such as plats or ownership and tax records. Public Access Station eliminates the need for a clerk or a member of the public to search filing cabinets or map books. Property data can be retrieved in seconds with a simple menu-based approach.
Assessment Station lets tax assessors find information on properties, create thematic maps of parcel areas and do comparability searches through a simple point-and-click interface. Both products are members of Ultimap's new PC Application Station(TM) family and can run stand-alone or provide low cost viewing, analysis, printing and plotting of data on the workstation-based UltiMap System(R) GIS. Assessment Station and Public Access Station are unique in the GIS market in that they require virtually no training to operate.
Ultimap Corporation is a leading supplier of geographic information products and services, providing solutions that meet critical management needs of local governments and utilities. MapInfo Corporation is the leader in desktop mapping software, and offers desktop mapping solutions for MS-DOS(R), Windows(R) and Macintosh(R) computers, as well as Sun(R) and Hewlett Packard(R) workstations.
