UKIP wrong to blame Europe; VIEWPOINTS.
ONCE again UKIP blames European laws rather than base its arguments on facts.Portuguese granite was indeed used for the visitor centre in Snowdon; however, this was because the builders Carillion decided to source the stone quickly for contractual reasons.
Local suppliers could not commit to the delivery timetable required by Carillion and shoulder any cost from failing to deliver on time. So it wasn't European rules that stopped local stone being used. In fact two thirds of the stone was sourced locally.
Unlike UKIP and the other London-based parties it is only Plaid Cymru which is a strong voice for Wales. UKIP and other unionist parties want to isolate Wales from the rest of Europe, whereas Plaid wants to see Wales at the heart of Europe, at the top tier not the second division. We should be treated with the same respect as any other nation. Wales loses out currently in influence and hard cash. This has to change.
Only Plaid has policies made in Wales, from Wales, for Wales.
