UK Intertek takes over renewables consultancy Metoc.
UK testing and inspection specialist Intertek Group (LON:ITRK) said today it has purchased engineering and environmental consultancy Metoc for GBP8m (USD12.9m/EUR9.2m) in cash.
Metoc has been owned by its management so far.
The takeover of Metoc, which employs about 80, will widen Intertek's staff in the field of renewables to some 200 worldwide.
Metoc offers advisory services to firms during the initial stages of construction and operation of wind, wave, oil, gas, solar and hydro-electric projects.
