Worldwide Computer Products News-8 August 2005-UGS' NX software to support HP 64-bit workstations(C)1995-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.comProduct lifecycle management (PLM) software and services provider UGS announced on Friday (5 August) its digital product development software, NX, will natively support Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition on HP Personal Workstations enabled with Intel EM64T or AMD64 processors.
According to the company, the implementation will allow customers to deploy HP workstations in an environment that enables 64-bit NX applications while at the same time running existing 32-bit applications.
UGS applications running on HP Personal Workstations with the Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition reportedly offers such benefits as: enabling high-performance computing for 64-bit native applications; supporting up to 16GB of RAM and 16TB of virtual memory; integration of 64-bit technical applications and existing 32-bit business applications; and multiprocessing.
UGS' support for Windows XP Professional x64 Edition will be available with the next release of NX scheduled to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of this year, the company claims. No financial details were disclosed.
