UGI'S ELECTRIC UTILITY FILES $4.2 MILLION RATE INCREASE

 VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- UGI Corp. (NYSE: UGI), a holding company with utility and propane marketing subsidiaries, reported that the Electric Division of its UGI Utilities unit filed on Monday, Nov. 1, for an annual increase of $4.2 million in its base rates.
 If approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, the proposed increase would become effective Dec. 31, and raise the annual revenues of the Electric Division by 6.7 percent. The utility's 1992 revenues were $64 million. It serves 60,000 customers in two northeastern Pennsylvania counties.
 UGI Utilities also operates a natural gas distribution utility in 14 eastern Pennsylvania counties. In addition to the utilities, UGI Corp. is the parent of AmeriGas, Inc., the nation's largest propane marketer.
