UCLA Journal of Islamic and Near Eastern Law. (News in Brief).

The University of California Los Angeles School of Law (Los Angeles, CA) has begun the publication of the UCLA Journal of Islamic and Near Eastern Law. It will be published twice a year and an annual subscription costs $40. The title's goal is to "emphasize and critically analyze all legal issues-social, political, civil, historical, economic, and commercial-that are of particular relevance to Muslims and Near Easterners in both Muslim and non-Muslim societies," UCLA said. The first two issues include stories on: women's rights, constitutionalism, Islamic legal history, sources and interpretation of Shari'ah, Islamic monarchies, and capital punishment.
