UAW AND MIDLAND STEEL THANKSGIVING SETTLEMENT ENDS 3-1/2 YEAR STRIKE; RATIFICATION VOTE ON SATURDAY

 CLEVELAND, Nov. 26 ~PRNewswire~ -- United Auto Workers Region 2 and Midland Steel Products reached a settlement of a bitter 3-1~2 year strike just after midnight, Thanksgiving, in the Cleveland offices of Federal Mediator Jack Buettner.
 Over 300 members of UAW Local 486 have been on strike at the producer of truck assembly frames since July of 1989.
 The marathon bargaining session which climaxed in the federally- mediated pact began Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. More than 15 hours later, at 12:15 a.m., Thanksgiving, Warren Davis, director of UAW Region 2 and Lamson-Sessions (NYSE: LMS) CEO John Schulz emerged with an agreement. Midland was also represented by corporate attorney Robert Duvin. Midland Steel Products is a division of Cleveland-based Lamson- Sessions.
 Details of the settlement will be made public after it is presented for membership ratification on Saturday morning, 9:00 a.m. at UAW Local 486 Hall at 10511 Madison Ave., Cleveland.
 Midland Steel Products is located on Madison Avenue and W. 106th St., in Cleveland.
