UAW AND BLUE CROSS-BLUE SHIELD REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

 DETROIT, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The UAW and Michigan Blue Cross and Blue Shield have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract covering approximately 3,700 UAW-represented workers, the UAW announced today.
 UAW members at Blue Cross-Blue Shield in the metro Detroit area will vote on the tentative agreement on Friday, Nov. 5. Informational meetings to review the tentative agreement and vote on ratification will be held in the following locations. For UAW Local 1781 (Southfield office), the meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the UFCW Local 876 Hall in Madison Heights. For UAW Local 2500 (Detroit office), the meeting will be held at 2 p.m. in the Columbus-Cartier Room at the Westin Hotel in Detroit.
 If the tentative agreement is ratified, UAW members at Michigan Blue Cross and Blue Shield would return to work on Monday, Nov. 8. UAW members struck Blue Cross and Blue Shield over unfair labor practices on Sept. 20. The previous three-year contract expired on Aug. 31, 1993.
