Al Ain: A great Muslim polymath, Ibn Sina, will be brought back to life, but as a robot at the UAE University.

The first Arabic-speaking humanoid to be developed by the United Arab Emirates University will carry his name.

Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, opened the Ibn Sena Media Centre at the College of Information Technology at the UAE University yesterday.

Dr Rafik A. Makki, dean of the College of Information Technology at the UAEU, yesterday told Gulf News a team of experts, led by Dr Nikolaos Mavridis, have started work on the project.

Dr Mavridis, head of the robot building team, said the humanoid will support rich interactivity.
