UAE organisation working to fight human trafficking.
The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking has held a workshop on the Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime."As part of its missions, especially those linked to international cooperation, the National Committee is keen to work with international and regional bodies to effectively combat human trafficking crimes," national news agency WAM quoted Dr Saeed Mohammad Al Ghafli, assistant undersecretary in the Ministry of State of FedA[degrees]eral National Council Affairs and Rapporteur of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, as saying.
"The Bali Process is one of the finest mechanisms that facilitate coordination and cooperation among its members to eliminate such crimes."
The workshop was attended by Scott Bjerregrd, a senior official from the Australian Consulate General, who
described how increased public awareness can discourage trafficking and alert the susceptible.
He spoke about strategies to deter people from smuggling and trafficking.
