UAE Cabinet endorses hosting GCC Police Force in Abu Dhabi.
The UAE Cabinet has endorsed hosting the headquarters of the joint Police Force of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Abu Dhabi.
The move aims to strengthenrelations with other Gulf countries and protectthe region against security threats.
The GCC Police Force willshare knowledge and information among other relevant authorities that will eventually streamline the efforts to maintain the safety and security of the people.
The decision toset up the GCC Police Force was adopted according to the decisions of GCC Ministers of Interiors who met in Kuwait in November 2014 as well as the Supreme Council of the GCC meeting held in December 2014.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said that joint GCC coordination has become a necessity and the GCC leadership is keen to provide all requirements, ensure safety and security to thepeople in the region.
