UACCH Texarkana campus getting $3.5 million building.

A classroom building is in the works for the Texarkana extension to the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.

UACCH spokesman Brent Talley said the project is part of the extension expanding its acreage from 8.5 acres to 22 acres.

"The initial 8.5 acres of that campus property is being prepared for further campus expansion to meet the growing demands of students and community," he said. "Currently, additional parking lots are being constructed to meet immediate needs for student growth and construction planning is underway for an additional education facility."

He said ground will be broken later this year on a building of 16,000-18,000 SF with a price tag of $3.5 million to $3.7 million.

UACCH opened its Texarkana extension in fall 2012.
