U.S. to provide logistical support to Kyrgyz law enforcement system for $ 4.7 million.

The signing ceremony of the twelfth amendment to the Agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and the United States signed on December 21, 2001 was held in Bishkek, reported press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan. The signing ceremony was held on June 6, 2012. The agreement was signed by Deputy Head of the Government Apparatus, Head of the Department of Defense, Law Enforcement and Emergency Kolbay Musaev and the U.S. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Pamela L. Spratlen. The Agreement stipulates provision of logistical support in the amount of approximately $ 4.7 million to the law enforcement system in Kyrgyzstan. These funds will be used to reform the system of law enforcement bodies, improve material and technical base of forensic laboratories, support drugs and corruption combat, as well as to train lawyers.
