U.S. POSTAL SERVICE ANNOUNCES PERFORMANCE, CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SCORES
DENVER, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Released today by the U.S. Postal Service, independent testing from Price Waterhouse finds that First- Class Mail in the Denver Division was delivered overnight 85.6 percent on time, an increase of 1.6 percent over last year at the same time. The survey period was March 7 through June 1. Nationwide, overnight service performance was 84 percent.
Additionally, the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), independently conducted by Opinion Research Corp., found 86 percent of residential households polled rated their overall experience with the Postal Service in this area "Excellent," "Very Good," and "Good." The nationwide average was 87 percent. "The Denver Division improved one point while the national average stayed the same in the last three months," said Denver General Manager/Postmaster Frank Beebe. "Customers completed this survey so we know how they feel about the service they receive from us." Results were based on questionnaires mailed in March.
CSI results come from surveys by Opinion Research, of Princeton, N.J., which polled more than 5,000 households in the Denver area to obtain their ratings for the previous three months.
