U.S. LONG DISTANCE CORP. SIGNS CONTRACT TO PROVIDE OPERATOR SERVICES TO 10,000 PAY TELEPHONES

 SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Long Distance Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS: USLD) today announced that it signed a two-year agreement with G-Five Corp. to provide operator services to approximately 10,000 pay telephones across the state of California. The G-Five agreement, which commences Oct. 1, 1993, is expected to yield annual revenues in excess of approximately $20 million.
 Parris H. Holmes, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer, stated, "We are pleased and honored to have been selected by G-Five to provide services to the group of California-based private pay telephone owners represented by G-Five. This is an important agreement for U.S. Long Distance as it significantly increases our base of business in California and expands to over 45,000 the total number of private pay telephones under contract with the company. In addition, the anticipated annual revenue will further strengthen U.S. Long Distance's balance sheet and its position in the telecommunications industry."
 In fiscal 1992, U.S. Long Distance revenue was $85 million. Consensus analyst opinions estimate that annual revenue will increase over 55 percent for fiscal 1993, surpassing $100 million for the first time in the company's history.

 G-Five Corp. is a private company based in Redding, Calif., which represents small and medium-sized pay telephone owners across the state.
 USLD is a fully-integrated long distance telecommunications and information services company with three primary areas of business: regional direct-dial (one-plus) long distance services in areas of the Southwest and Pacific Northwest; national operator services for the hospitality and pay telephone industries; and billing clearinghouse and information management services for operator services and direct-dial long distance companies.
