SAN ANTONIO, Texas, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Long Distance Corporation (OTC: USLD), provider of 1+ long distance, operator, and billing and collection services, and MCI Communications Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MCIC) announced today the signing of a $12.6 million contract in which MCI will be the supplier of telecommunications services to USLD's operation which spans 37 states.
USLD, an MCI customer for two years, is extending and expanding its agreement for MCI Prism 1, a volume outbound product, MCI 800 service, MCI International and credit card services.
"Our three-year agreement with MCI should be seen as a vote of confidence and customer satisfaction," said Larry James, president of U.S. Long Distance Corp. "Since we first entered the U.S. telecommunications market four years ago, USLD has become a premier full service company," James added. "In large part, our success is the result of MCI's success in providing superior products and a robust network."
"This agreement represents the creation of a strong, long-term alliance between MCI and USLD," said Robert Goldsmith, MCI vice president of national accounts. "MCI looks forward to providing quality, cost-effective services to USLD and, in turn, to USLD customers."
