 U.S. HOMECARE CORPORATION APPOINTS W. WALLACE MCDOWELL JR.
 TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 HARTSDALE, N.Y., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. HomeCare Corporation (NASDAQ: USHO) announced today the appointment of W. Wallace McDowell Jr. to its board of directors.
 Jay C. Huffard, chairman, and W. Edward Massey, president and chief executive officer, commented that Mr. McDowell's expertise as an operating officer, and his experience in providing strategic direction to a variety of operating businesses, will provide important depth to U.S. HomeCare's board.
 Currently, Mr. McDowell is a principal with Morgan Lewis Githens & Ahn (MLG&A), a company specializing in direct strategic corporate investments. Prior to joining MLG&A, Mr. McDowell was chairman and chief executive office of the Prospect Group, Inc. During his tenure, he held Prospect from its inception in 1983 as a private venture capital company with assets of approximately $16 million into a diversified leveraged acquisition company with assets of $1.5 billion. While at Prospect, Mr. McDowell also served as chairman of the board of Murray Bakery Products, MidSouth Corporation, Illinois Central Corporation, Sylvan Food (Holdings) Inc., and Wood River Capital Corporation.
 Earlier in his career, Mr. McDowell spent nearly 20 years with the Philip Morris Companies, most recently as executive vice president- operations, Philip Morris U.S.A., and as a vice president of the parent company. Mr. McDowell currently serves as a director of Children's Discovery Centers of America, Inc. and Jack Morton Productions.
 Mr. McDowell graduated from Princeton University in 1958 and received his MBA from the University of Virginia in 1963. He currently resides in Greenwich, Conn.
 U.S. HomeCare is a leading provider of home health care in markets where it integrates nursing care and infusion therapy. Services are provided by approximately 3,000 caregivers in five major markets through 24 locations, including three infusion therapy facilities and pharmacies.
