U.S. HEALTHCARE MEDICARE RECEIVES APPROVAL AS FIRST STATEWIDE PLAN IN NEW JERSEY

 BLUE BELL, Pa., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Healthcare (NASDAQ: USHC), one of the nation's leading providers of managed health care services, announced that the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) has approved the offering of the U.S. Healthcare Medicare Plan in the state of New Jersey.
 HCFA's approval was based upon an evaluation of U.S. Healthcare's quality of care, depth of provider network, member services, and financial stability.
 "The U.S. Healthcare Medicare Plan is one of the most successful in terms of member growth and customer satisfaction," said Jacob Getson, senior vice president of government programs, U.S. Healthcare. "We can now provide New Jersey seniors and businesses with a totally integrated solution to their concerns about the cost and quality of retiree health care," he continued.
 The U.S. Healthcare Medicare Plan is built on the managed health care model of other U.S. Healthcare plans. Benefits include coverage for primary and preventive care, specialist services, outpatient and inpatient hospital care, vision and hearing care, and care in skilled nursing facilities.
 U.S. Healthcare has offered a Medicare plan for nearly eight years, and currently covers 25,000 Medicare members in southeastern Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh and New York.
 U.S. Healthcare Medicare is available to all Medicare-eligible individuals residing in New Jersey, either directly or through an employer group. A special line has been set up at 800-282-5366 to provide further information about eligibility, enrollment and costs.
 U.S. Healthcare provides comprehensive managed health care services to more than 1.5 million members through health maintenance organizations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland.
