U.S. HEALTHCARE ANTICIPATES LEGAL ACTION AGAINST NEW YORK STATE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT

BLUE BELL, Pa., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Healthcare, Inc. (NASDAQ: USHC), one of the nation's leading providers of managed health care services, today announced that it intends to file an action to annul the decision of the New York State Insurance Department that would decrease U.S. Healthcare's New York HMO premium rates for the 12-month period beginning Oct. 1, 1993, by an average of 3.9 percent.
The company said the action will be based upon the arbitrary and capricious decision of the Department in adjusting the company's premium rate application. The company noted that its action is part of the rate regulatory process and there will be no final determination until the action is decided.
